Maybe you and your girlfriends met at Georgetown, or maybe you just can’t get enough of mid-1980s Rob Lowe and Emilio Estevez. Whatever it is, you can feel St. Elmo’s Fire burnin’ in you, and there’s no place to feel it quite like Georgetown—and no better way to do it than to tour it with your girlfriends.
Take a walk around Georgetown University’s picture-perfect campus then stop for a bite at The Tombs. While the movie was actually filmed at another Georgetown bar that you’ll visit later, The Tombs is the classic Georgetown University hangout. Grab a burger and a beer then head to M Street.
Shop your way along M Street and Wisconsin Avenue and channel Demi Moore’s fashionable-yet-troubled character, Jules, at Intermix or Hu’s Shoes. Or, go for a sweet and preppy “Ally-Sheedy-as-Leslie” look courtesy of Vineyard Vines or J. Crew.
Hang out ‘til last call at El Centro, located in the Wisconsin Avenue building where filming for the movie took place.
Stay in the heart of Georgetown at the chic and cozy Georgetown Inn, just a few doors down.
