UNIQUE SPACES
House of Sweden
It's easy to discover DC's international side. Embassies line the stylish streets near Dupont Circle, while restaurants in Adams Morgan, U Street, Capitol Hill and other neighborhoods serve cuisine from around the globe. If you're looking for a unique meeting space that matches the international flavor of the city, check out the newest attraction on the Georgetown waterfront, the House of Sweden.
To create this new embassy, exhibition and events facility, the Swedish government put sleek, simplistic Scandinavian architecture principles into practice. It's elegant and airy, with artistic glasswork, blonde wood, stone accents and an aquatic-style doorway to complement its waterfront location. The exhibition space, Anna Lindh Hall, boasts a two-story window overlooking Rock Creek Park on one side and the Georgetown waterfront on the other. Thanks to sliding partitions, there's space to display large objects, including vehicles.
The Conference Hall is located below ground and includes five meeting spaces plus a large multifunctional room outfitted with moveable walls. The large space can accommodate up to 120 guests for a formal banquet or 140 guests for a conference. It comes complete with top-notch equipment including wireless microphones, speaker systems, and presentation equipment. The five smaller spaces are equipped with similar amenities, and some even feature natural light.
