Nightlife Impresario Sets Sights on Downtown with The Park at Fourteenth
When the stylish, sophisticated DC nightclub LOVE opened its doors in 2001, owner Marc Barnes created instant buzz by attracting fashionable crowds and celebrities to Northeast DC. Now Barnes is back with a new venture, developed with managing partner Dirk van Stockum, opening in downtown’s Franklin Square this fall. The Park at Fourteenth is a chic new four-tiered restaurant and lounge, offering elegant event space for cocktail parties, receptions, meetings and other special events. Each floor is equipped with a high definition projector with electronic retractable screen. You’ll also find eight 42-inch plasma televisions placed throughout the venue. The Park at FourteenthThe 2,400 sq.-ft. basement kitchen is fully equipped for catering large parties. There’s also an open-plan kitchen on the first floor, headed up by Chefs Lois Spencer and James Balster who have put together a menu of creative American classics like slow-roasted short ribs and house-made cinnamon sugar doughnuts with frozen cappuccino custard topped with a froth cream foam. The Park at Fourteenth is slated for an early November debut– just in time for the holidays. To plan your next event, contact Anne Barnes at (202) 737–7275 or anne@theparkat14th.com.
