You can’t miss the world’s largest bush elephant that greets you upon walking into the Natural History Museum…you almost expect it to come to life right before your eyes. The museum is also home to dazzling jewels, plenty of dinosaurs, a hands-on Insect Zoo, a breathtaking butterfly pavilion and a larger-than-life Mammals Hall. There’s also a new Ocean Hall, home to a giant preserved squid like the one that comes to Larry’s aid in the movie– and then goes for a dip in the Reflecting Pool. Look for a cameo by the Hope Diamond in the film as well. nmnh.si.edu
