The National Air and Space Museum plays a starring role in the film as the place where Larry meets characters like Amelia Earhart, Charles Lindbergh and even the Tuskegee Airmen. Famous aircraft on display at the museum like the original 1903 Wright Brothers Plane also play a part in the action. Behind the Scenes Secret: In the movie, Amelia Earhart flies the Wright Brothers plane. But her plane, the candy apple red 1928 Lockheed Vega, is also on display at Air & Space. She gets one more chance to fly it in the movie when helping to return Larry’s friends to the National Museum of Natural History.
