Destination DC and American Express Partner for “Power Savings”
Cardholders receive 10x rewards points when they spend
at 140 locations citywide through Sept. 15

(Washington, DC) … Destination DC and American Express have partnered on a special end-of-summer promotion that rewards cardmembers for visiting the nation’s capital. Now through Sept. 15, American Express Cardmembers get 10X Membership Rewards Points when they use their card at any of nearly 140 locations in Washington, DC. For every $1 spent at participating restaurants, retailers, hotels and attractions, American Express Cardmembers get 10 points in return. The “Power Savings” Promotion offers visitors an extra enticement to visit DC during the popular summer season.

“Late summer is a wonderful time to visit Washington, DC and with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial dedication on August 28, there will be something brand new to experience in the nation’s capital,” said Elliott L. Ferguson, President & CEO of Destination DC. “Our partnership with American Express offers great rewards at many of the city’s most popular places, adding another huge incentive to come to DC.”

Participants include many of the Smithsonian’s gift shops, a who’s who of DC’s hottest restaurants and an array of hotels to fit any budget.

“American Express seeks partnerships that will benefit our cardmembers and merchants. Washington, DC is a world-class city and we are excited to offer American Express Cardmembers the opportunity to increase their points tenfold, while driving business to the city’s array of restaurants, retailers, hotels and attractions,” said Don Shannon, Vice President of Marketing and Client Development at American Express.

American Express Cardmembers can register their card for the “Power Savings” program, and find a complete list of participants, at Washington.org/amex.
