Washington, DC’s Travel and Tourism Industry Reports Significant Gains in 2010 May 2011 2010 was an exceptionally strong year for travel and tourism in Washington, DC. The city’s hospitality industry posted a 5.1% increase in domestic visitation and an 8.2% increase in visitor spending in 2010, according to a study released today by Destination DC, the city’s official tourism and marketing office, during the annual Washington, DC Travel Rally, an event held in conjunction with National Travel and Tourism Week.
