Daikaya Izakaya

Daikaya offers two experiences: Sapporo-style ramen on the first floor and an upstairs izakaya perfect for late night bites.

Daikaya, the Ramen Shop, is on the first floor and offers traditional Sapporo-style ramen—and helped usher in the age of ramen into the greater Washington, DC area. This 40-seat shop features its signature wok-charred toppings for authentic ramen. Sides include fried gyoza and veggie spring rolls, as well as Japanese canned drinks and cups of sake. Reservations are not accepted for this part of the restaurant and guests are seated on a first-come-first serve basis. We offer indoor and outdoor seating.

Above Daikaya Ramen, our Japanese tavern concept, Izakaya, offers a fresh take on Japanese pub food and shareable small plates, including onigiri, chicken karaage and burrata with nori. The red-lit bar and eclectic decor keep the Izakaya as one of most sought-after spots in the city after opening a decade ago. We accept reservations for this portion of the restaurant through OpenTable.
