The Georgetown House Inn
A small 11-bedroom two-story building that sits on the edge of the C&O Canal. Most bedrooms have a view or balcony that overlooks the canal. The building was constructed in the 1830's by the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal for use as a storage room for equipment while the canal was being built. The building was shortly converted into a tavern and then a stable which housed the horses and mules that pulled cargo boats down the canal. The Inn is located steps from some of the most award-winning restaurants in the DC area. It is two blocks from The Washington Harbor and the Georgetown Water Park activities here include: ice skating, boat tours and taxis that will take you to Alexandria's harbor. The Inn is a short 10-minute drive to the Kennedy Center and other major DC Historical attractions and museums. The Georgetown House is also one block away from the high-end shops of M St. and Wisconsin Avenue. Step out our front door and enjoy the 184 mile long bike and walking path along the canal/ Our Inn was recently renovated to include on-suite bathrooms in every room. Some rooms have a private balcony overlooking the canal, while others may have a window view.
