The History of Cannabis (THC) museum is the first of its kind on the east coast. A tour through this unique museum focused on cannabis provides an education chronicling the industry of the plant from its inception to modern day. Experience an interactive historical journey as you venture through the museum's exhibits which change semi-annually and elaborate on the medical, legal, cultural, technological, historical information and events impacting the cannabis industry.

In 2014, Initiative 71 was passed legalizing the recreational use of cannabis in DC. The museum invites the community and tourist to learn about the historical use of cannabis while getting informed about the many positive ways cannabis has been helping people and societies for thousands of years.

The History of Cannabis museum is located in the heart of Columbia Heights neighborhood which is home to eateries, bars, shopping, a weekly farmers markets, and festivals.
