Nopa Kitchen + Bar is a 160-seat American brasserie located within the heart of Penn Quarter, one block from the Verizon Center and across the street from the National Portrait Gallery. Guests can anticipate a southern twist on garden fresh vegetables, house-made charcuterie and fresh fish with executive chef Matt Kuhn leading the kitchen. The restaurant also offers a lively bar, a main dining room and several private dining options seating 10 to 40 for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch.
The origin of Nopa's name encompasses its location (just north of Pennsylvania Avenue) and James Beard Foundation’s award-nominated restaurant designer; Martin Vahtra of Projects Design Associates of New York is the designer of record. Nopa Kitchen + Bar was named in Washingtonian magazine’s list of the “100 Very Best Restaurants” in January 2014, named number one in DC Modern Luxury’s list of "10 Most Exciting New Restaurants" in 2013 and the restaurant has appeared in The New York Times and Esquire.
