Why join the Ambassador Circle?
The Bidding Process
You do not need to be a professional meeting planner or arrive with a completed proposal. Ambassadors help identify opportunites, make introductions and share the expertise that gives a bid credibility. Destination DC guides the process and brings together the destination resources need to comopete.
An ambassador tells DDC about an international association, conference or professional connection within their field.
DDC helps evaluate the opportunity, source hotels and venues, develop destination materials and coordinate local partners. A bid is then submitted and site inspections begin.
After a short list is made and final negotiations happen, a host city is declared and losing cities recieve feedback.
When DC successfully becomes a host city contracts are signed and planning begins.
We continue supporting organizers every step of the way as they prepare to bring their meeting to Washington, DC and host a transformative meeting.
