Restaurant desk in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center
Destination DC restaurant members can be featured on a restaurant map created especially for convention attendees and distributed by DDC team members who make reservations for visitors during meetings and events.
A free designation for qualifying DDC members, this program helps attract business from Chinese tourists and tour operators. China is DC’s top international feeder market, with more than 300,000 visitors annually.
Members-only information and tools that work for you. Most are accessed through the Member Extranet.
2-Year convention calendar
This calendar includes confirmed meetings and events. You can plan your strategy, inventory, staffing and outreach when you know who will be in town and when.
Keep your account current by editing your web and/or publication listings, refreshing your amenities and updating staff listings so the right people are in-the-know.
Leads and referrals

Our team is too big to sit for meetings, so we “Stand-Up” weekly. Come present your product and services at our all-staff meeting so we can support your work across all our departments.
Join our marketing campaigns
At least twice a year we’ll offer special member-focused marketing campaigns such as Spring and Date Nights DC. We provide the outreach, you provide the special content to wow customers.
Familiarization tours (FAMs)
We host more than 50 FAMs a year for tour operators around the globe, journalists and meeting planners. As these eager visitors learn about our city and plan their stories and events, you can be first in line with your products and services. Get to know our marketing, tourism and sales teams and respond “Yes!” when asked to offer services.
Dining and Driving Power
Partners offer complimentary services and interact directly with potential clients and journalists while they are planning events or stories and partners receive detailed information for follow-up.
Cooperative Opportunities (Co-Ops)
Build your business at affordable prices. Destination DC purchases and/or organizes member-only co-op opportunities; members pay to participate with Destination DC at rates far more affordable than these programs would cost individually and in experiences not available to individual businesses.
Hotel Specific Meetings
Destination DC hosts meetings with hotel member directors of sales and marketing for accommodations members to learn about the latest updates, trends and address obstacles to winning meetings business.
Show Your Badge (SYB)
Welcome convention attendees to your business with deals and discounts. SYB is promoted by the Destination DC convention services team to meeting planners.
