From the Archives: Great Grizzlies

Watch archival films and classic television to go behind the scenes of iconic National Geographic expeditions.

Nov 12, 2026. From: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

You’ve seen the documentaries and know the photography. Now, travel back in time through the lens of exploration during a National Geographic film experience you won’t find anywhere else.

Filmed in 2001, this episode joins National Geographic Explorer and photographer Joel Sartore on an ambitious assignment that would give pause to even the most daring adventurers -- photographing America's largest carnivore, the grizzly bear. Journeying to western North America, Joel must summon his intrepid nature to gain close access to these mighty predators as they awake from winter hibernation.

Included with Museum Admission.
