Six masterful live jazz performances before select showings of Chez Joey at Arena Stage.
Presented by DC Jazz Festival and Arena Stage, Chez Joey Live continues the tradition of jazz as America’s original music, featuring DMV artists performing standards and originals in the Arena Stage lobby on Wednesdays, February 4–March 11 at 6:15 p.m., before performances of Chez Joey.
The series is part of JazzDC, supported by the Galena Yorktown Foundation and the Leonard and Elaine Silverstein Family Foundation, and celebrates DC’s rich jazz legacy while supporting the next generation of musicians as part of DC250. Meanwhile, Chez Joey transports audiences to the sizzling jazz nightlife of 1940s Chicago, where smooth-talking singer Joey Evans navigates ambition and romance in a reimagining of Pal Joey featuring the iconic Rodgers and Hart score and co-direction by Savion Glover and Tony Goldwyn, with pre-show performances by Tori Trinity Trio (February 4), Udobi Trio (February 11), Dan Murray Trio (February 18), Sharon Clark Trio (February 25), Dave Manley Duo (March 4), and Marshall Keys Trio (March 11).
