Acoustic Alchemy

Acoustic Alchemy is a British instrumental group whose sound brings steel-string and nylon-string guitars together in a fluid mix of jazz, pop, classical and world-music influences. Founded by guitarist Greg Carmichael and co-founder Nick Webb, the band has continued to evolve since Webb’s death, with Miles Gilderdale joining Carmichael on guitar. Its long-running catalog includes “Mr. Chow,” “Caravan of Dreams” and the Grammy-nominated albums Arcanum and AArt. The music’s appeal lies in the way intricate guitar lines and shifting rhythms make room for both close listening and an easy, melodic flow.
