Ballyhoo! is a Maryland band whose self-described “Maryland Beach Rock” blends reggae, pop, rock, ska and punk. Formed in Aberdeen in 1995, the group built its sound across albums including Cheers!, Daydreams and Pineapple Grenade; the latter reached the Billboard 200. Songs such as “Cali Girl,” “Walk Away” and “Beautiful Day” pair melodic hooks with breezy rhythms, while the band’s catalog also reflects a sharper punk edge. That mix gives Ballyhoo! room to move from laid-back sway to punchier sing-along energy without losing its beach-rock identity.
