Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Grieg & Mussorgsky

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra brings three contrasting works together in a program led by conductor Jonathon Heyward, with pianist Jan Lisiecki as soloist. Dobrinka Tabakova’s “Orpheus’ Comet” opens the evening before Lisiecki takes on Grieg’s Piano Concerto, whose lyrical melodies and virtuosic passages make it a Romantic favorite. The program then turns to Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” in Ravel’s brilliant orchestration, accompanied by a special visual presentation. The shifting musical scenes and added imagery offer a vivid way to experience this orchestral classic.
