Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - The Planets - An HD Odyssey
Feb 12, 2027. Starting: 8:00 PM
The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra brings Gustav Holst’s The Planets into a vivid meeting of live orchestral music and high-definition images from space exploration. Led by conductor Damon Gupton, the program pairs Holst’s cosmic suite with Anna Clyne’s "Pivot" and Mozart’s Symphony No. 41, “Jupiter”; the Baltimore Choral Arts Society also joins the performance. Projected imagery gives the familiar musical portraits of the planets a striking visual dimension, while the orchestra’s full range—from the drive of “Mars” to the serene close of “Neptune”—invites listeners to follow the suite as both a musical journey and a voyage through space.
