BoomBox

BoomBox is an electronic rock duo whose dance-floor grooves draw on house, blues, funk, rock and soul. Founded in Muscle Shoals in 2004 by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Zion Rock Godchaux, the group now features Godchaux alongside his brother Kinsman MacKay. Their live sets layer MacKay’s drum machines and mixed electronic beats with Godchaux’s electric guitar, smooth vocals and original lyrics. From early favorites on Visions of Backbeat to later albums including Downriverelectric and Dangerous Waters, BoomBox blends organic instrumentation and electronic production into music that invites listeners to move while keeping its soulful, song-driven center.
