Charlie Berens

Charlie Berens is a Wisconsin comedian and Emmy-winning journalist whose humor finds a punchline in the rhythms and quirks of Midwestern life. He created “The Manitowoc Minute,” a mock local-news series that grew from a character inspired by his journalism days into a mix of sketches, music and stand-up. Berens is also the New York Times bestselling author of The Midwest Survival Guide and co-created the bluegrass-comedy album Unthawed, which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums chart. His comedy draws on familiar regional customs and turns them into affectionate, sharply observed stories.
