DakhaBrakha

Kyiv quartet DakhaBrakha turns Ukrainian folk traditions into a boldly eclectic sound the group calls “ethno chaos.” Founded in 2004 at Kyiv’s DAKH Center for Contemporary Art, the band blends layered vocals and traditional Ukrainian melodies with rhythms and instruments drawn from around the world. Its recordings include Yahudky, Light, The Road and Alambari; onstage, the group’s theatrical roots meet an expressive mix of cello, accordion, percussion and striking vocal harmonies. The result moves between intimate, atmospheric passages and spirited, rhythm-driven songs, inviting listeners into a musical conversation across traditions.
