Death Becomes Her

Based on the 1992 cult film, Death Becomes Her turns a deliciously dark rivalry into a musical comedy about beauty, ambition and the perils of holding a grudge. Actress Madeline Ashton steals Helen Sharp’s fiancé, setting off a feud that takes a supernatural turn when the mysterious Viola Van Horn offers a potion promising restored youth—and immortality. With a book by Marco Pennette and an original score by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey, the show brings the film’s macabre satire to the stage with direction and choreography by Christopher Gattelli. Its blend of sharp-edged comedy, theatrical illusions and larger-than-life musical storytelling makes eternal life look anything but peaceful.
