Dinosaur Jr

Dinosaur Jr. is the Massachusetts trio of guitarist and vocalist J Mascis, bassist Lou Barlow and drummer Murph, whose noisy, melodic alternative rock helped shape the sound of American indie music. Mascis’s laconic vocals and soaring, feedback-rich guitar lead songs that balance fuzz and volume with strong pop hooks. The band’s landmark albums include You’re Living All Over Me and Where You Been, home to favorites such as “Freak Scene” and “Start Choppin’.” Reunited in its original lineup since 2005, Dinosaur Jr. brings a distinctive contrast to its music: loose, rumbling rhythms set against guitar solos that take flight.
