Eddie 9V

Atlanta-born singer and guitarist Eddie 9V brings a road-tested blend of blues, Southern rock and soul, shaped by years playing clubs and building his sound from the ground up. He wrote, produced and played every instrument on his 2019 debut, Left My Soul in Memphis; later albums Little Black Flies and Saratoga expanded his reach. On Down Here, made with producer Dan Auerbach and fellow guitarist Marcus King, he moves from the driving Southern-rock charge of “Whole Lot Coming For You” to the soulful George McCrae cover “Rock Your Baby.” The appeal is in that loose, lived-in mix of sturdy grooves, expressive guitar and warm, unvarnished vocals.
