Eva Ayllon

Eva Ayllón brings the living traditions of Peruvian song into a voice-led blend of música criolla and Afro-Peruvian rhythms. A defining interpreter of the landó and festejo, she first reached a wide audience as the lead singer of the popular trio Los Kipus in the 1970s before building a solo career spanning more than 30 recordings. Her repertoire includes the bittersweet “Mal Paso” and the tribute album Eva Ayllón Canta a Chabuca Granda; in 2019, she received the Latin Grammy’s Musical Excellence Award. Her performances offer a vivid encounter with Peru’s musical heritage, carried by an expressive voice and rhythms made for movement.
