Fairfax Symphony - The Nutcracker

The Fairfax Symphony and Fairfax Ballet bring Tchaikovsky’s beloved holiday ballet to life with dancers and a full orchestra performing the score live. In this timeless Christmas Eve fantasy, a young girl’s nutcracker toy leads her into a world of dancing snowflakes, a battle between toy soldiers and mice, and the graceful Sugar Plum Fairy and Nutcracker Prince. Led by conductor Christopher Zimmerman, the production pairs the ballet’s vivid storytelling with the sweep and sparkle of Tchaikovsky’s music, from its festive march to the “Waltz of the Flowers.” Hearing the orchestra and watching the dancers share the story makes this seasonal favorite especially inviting for families and longtime ballet fans alike.
