Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton reimagines the life of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton as a fast-moving musical shaped by ambition, rivalry and the birth of a nation. Inspired by Ron Chernow’s biography, the show pairs Broadway storytelling with a score blending hip-hop, jazz, R&B and traditional musical theater. Miranda wrote the book, music and lyrics, and the production went on to win 11 Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Songs such as “My Shot” and “The Room Where It Happens” give voice to characters wrestling with power, legacy and who gets to shape the future.
