Hampton Pirates at American University Eagles Mens Basketball
Nov 29, 2026. Starting: 4:00 PM
Hampton Pirates and American University Eagles bring two Division I programs with recent postseason momentum together in a nonconference matchup. Hampton’s basketball history includes a celebrated 2001 NCAA Tournament upset of No. 2 seed Iowa State, while the Pirates also won back-to-back MEAC tournament titles in 2015 and 2016. American captured the 2024-25 Patriot League championship and returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014, setting a program record with 299 three-pointers that season. The matchup pairs Hampton’s proud tournament tradition with an Eagles team shaped by an up-tempo approach and a knack for scoring from beyond the arc.
