Jayda G

Jayda G is a Canadian DJ and producer whose buoyant house music draws on disco, funk and soul, pairing dance-floor momentum with a thoughtful, personal streak. Her 2019 debut, Significant Changes, connects vintage drum-machine grooves with her background in environmental toxicology; “Orca’s Reprise” reflects her interest in the natural world, while “Stanley’s Get Down (No Parking on the DF)” keeps its focus firmly on the dance floor. On Guy, she turns to family history, weaving her late father’s voice into songs including “Blue Lights” and “Circle Back Around.” That mix of warmth, groove and meaning gives her music room to move both body and mind.
