Jesse Cook is a Canadian guitarist whose rumba flamenco sound brings together the quick-fire rhythms of flamenco with touches of jazz, classical guitar and music from around the world. Since his 1995 debut, Tempest, he has followed that cross-cultural curiosity through albums including The Rumba Foundation, shaped by Colombian and Cuban influences, and One World, which draws on musical traditions spanning Spain, South America and the Middle East. A Juno Award winner, Cook pairs intricate guitar work with a rhythmic, genre-blending approach that gives familiar flamenco colors fresh turns.
