John Pizzarelli

With nimble guitar work, a relaxed vocal style and an easy sense of swing, John Pizzarelli brings the Great American Songbook to life while happily venturing beyond it. The son of acclaimed guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, he draws on jazz traditions shaped by Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra, yet has also explored the songs of Paul McCartney and Antônio Carlos Jobim. His projects range from the Beatles tribute Midnight McCartney to Better Days Ahead, a solo-guitar tribute to Pat Metheny; he also co-produced James Taylor’s Grammy-winning album American Standard. The pleasure is in hearing familiar melodies take on fresh color through Pizzarelli’s deft playing and personable delivery.
