Los Tucanes de Tijuana are a norteño group led by singer, songwriter and producer Mario Quintero Lara, celebrated for pairing narrative corridos with cumbias, romantic songs and party-ready rhythms. Since emerging from Tijuana in the late 1980s, they have built a wide-ranging catalog that includes the dance-floor favorite “La Chona,” “El Tucanazo” and the Grammy-nominated albums Jugo a la Vida, Imperio and 365 Días. Their music moves easily between storytelling and celebration, giving listeners both the vivid characters of a corrido and the irresistible pulse of a communal sing-along.
