A Midsummer Nights Dream

In Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, four young lovers lose their way in an enchanted forest, where fairy royalty Oberon and Titania are at odds and mischievous Puck sets a chain of comic mix-ups in motion. Director Simon Godwin’s production brings the acting company into a fantastical world shaped by puppets created and directed by master puppeteer Basil Twist, whose stage work includes My Neighbour Totoro and Petrushka. The play’s tangled romances, quarrels between fairies and hilariously misguided troupe of amateur actors meet in a lively collision of mischief and magic.
