The Moth GrandSLAM

The Moth GrandSLAM is a live storytelling championship where winners of the organization’s open-mic StorySLAMs return to compete for the title. Each finalist shares a true, personal story shaped around a theme, bringing the art of spoken-word storytelling to the stage without scripts or special effects. The tales can turn on anything from a sudden change of fortune to a heated clash or a hard-won breakthrough, moving between humor, heartbreak and surprise. With StorySLAM champions facing off one after another, the evening’s drama comes from real lives—and the different ways people make sense of them.
