Pressing Strings

Annapolis trio Pressing Strings blends blues, folk, soul and rock into songs led by guitarist and vocalist Jordan Sokel’s soulful delivery and intricate playing. The band’s sound moves between reflective storytelling and easy-rolling grooves, with all three members contributing vocals. Its releases include the albums Settle In, Minutes to Midnight and A Different Place, whose nine songs include “Wheel Inside A Well” and “Smiles All Around.” In performance, the trio’s close interplay and layered harmonies bring warmth and rhythmic lift to songs that reward both listening in and moving along.
