The Seldom Scene
Dec 30, 2026. Starting: 8:00 PM
Since forming in 1971, The Seldom Scene has helped open bluegrass to new sounds, pairing nimble banjo, mandolin and dobro with songs drawn from country, folk and rock. The influential group’s early albums, including Act I and Old Train, set traditional bluegrass standards alongside fresh interpretations of James Taylor’s “Sweet Baby James” and John Prine’s “Paradise.” Its current lineup carries that adventurous spirit forward, moving easily between original and traditional material and reimagined favorites. The appeal lies in hearing familiar songs reshaped by crisp acoustic playing and the warm, spontaneous energy of a band built around musical discovery.
