The Seldom Scene and Tim & Savannah Finch & The Eastman String Band

The Seldom Scene helped reshape bluegrass after forming in Maryland in 1971, pairing polished picking and close harmonies with a wide-ranging songbook that reaches beyond tradition. Their early records Act I, Act II and Act III established an inventive approach to bluegrass arrangements that continues on the 2025 album Remains to Be Scene. Sharing the bill, Tim and Savannah Finch bring their Americana-inflected bluegrass to the Eastman String Band, with soaring harmonies, driving instrumentals and original songs; Savannah’s songwriting and vocals complement Tim’s mandolin, banjo and singing. Together, the groups offer two distinct expressions of string-band music, from adventurous reinterpretations to heartfelt originals.
