The Sound of Music - Musical

When Maria arrives at the von Trapp household, she finds seven children accustomed to marching—and a stern widowed father who has shut music out of their lives. This Rodgers and Hammerstein musical follows her efforts to bring warmth and song back into the family, as romance and the threat of Nazi rule reshape their future in 1938 Austria. Its celebrated score includes “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain.” The shift from playful family songs to a story of courage gives the show both its joyful lift and its emotional depth.
