Spanish Harlem Orchestra
Dec 05, 2026. Starting: 7:30 PM
Rooted in the sounds of Spanish Harlem, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra brings New York-style salsa dura and Latin jazz to life with a 13-piece ensemble of musicians and vocalists led by pianist and arranger Oscar Hernández. Its precise, full-bodied sound honors salsa’s rich history while making room for fresh arrangements and jazz improvisation. The group’s Grammy-winning albums include Across 110th Street, Viva La Tradición and Anniversary; its 2024 release, Swing Forever, features vocalist Gilberto Santa Rosa. Expect tightly woven rhythms, bold brass and expressive vocals that make the music rewarding to hear—and hard to sit still through.
