Expressions of Worship
Women of the Bible in Art
All through the Bible are stories of women who have expressed their devotion to God in a myriad of ways. From the prophet Miriam’s “Song of the Sea” and Mary of Bethany who anointed the feet of Jesus to the women of the early church who washed the bones of the martyrs, women’s worship takes many expressions but all with the same understanding—the God of the Bible is worthy of worship.
“Expressions of Worship: Women and the Bible in Art,” is an experience brought to you by Museum of the Bible and the Visual Museum of Women in Christianity. This multi-day event will feature biblical scholars: Dr. Carmen Imes, Dr. Jennifer McNutt, Dr. Sandra Glahn, and Dr. Lynn Cohick. Joining these women will be featured artist Este Jones, together with artists Karen Smith and Jazmine Sánchez.
We invite you to join us for thoughtful conversation and interactive education designed to foster your theological imagination around women, the Bible, and art.
