Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington, DC

The professional association of licensed DC tour guides (the oldest tour guide association in the U.S.) with over 300 members including licensed tour guides and affiliate tour companies.

From small, individualized tours to multi-bus group tours, Guild guides set the professional standard in the DC area. As required by law, all Guild tour guides have a valid Washington, DC tour guide license. In addition, to become a Guild member, licensed guides must demonstrate solid knowledge and skills, and subsequently, members continue to earn continuing education credits. To be listed as a foreign language guide, members must pass a rigorous language exam, as well.
