Old Stone House

Tucked in among modern shops on bustling M Street sits Washington’s oldest unchanged building and the city’s sole pre-Revolutionary Colonial home, built in 1765. Today, it’s operated by the National Park Service.

Please note the Old Stone house and the garden is temporarily closed for fire suppression system installation and structural rehabilitation through December 2018.
