Ford's Theatre

Where Lincoln's Legacy Lives

A working theatre, historical monument, world-class museum and learning center, Ford's Theatre is the premier destination in Washington, DC to explore and celebrate the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln. The site of Lincoln's assassination in April 1865, Ford's Theatre offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in America's past while revealing meaningful connections to today.

Ford's Theatre and Museum are open Wednesday-Mondays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The Petersen House and Aftermath Exhibits at the Center for Education and Leadership remain closed in winter 2021. Join us in person, or register for a virtual program or event that explores the legacy of President Abraham Lincoln and diverse American experiences through theatre and education.
