Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Women Rock

Women Rock pairs the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra with powerhouse vocalists for a symphonic salute to women who shaped pop and rock. The program spans Carole King, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Pat Benatar and Heart, with songs including “I Feel the Earth Move,” “Proud Mary” and “Hit Me With Your Best Shot.” Under conductor Jiannan Cheng, the orchestra brings a full symphonic sound to these anthems while the singers carry their grit, soul and unmistakable rock attitude. The result moves from one familiar hit to the next, celebrating the voices and songs that still command the room.
