Emmet Swimming

Emmet Swimming is a Virginia-born alternative rock band whose songs pair muscular guitars and a resonant baritone with a storyteller’s eye for vivid characters and restless journeys. Formed by students at George Mason University, the group built a regional following before its Epic Records albums wake and Arlington to Boston brought wider attention. The latter includes “Arlington,” one of the band’s signature songs, alongside the road-minded title track; later, Big Night Without You expanded its sound with touches of gospel and dark humor. Their catalog moves between full-tilt rock and more reflective turns, with memorable stories at its center.
