Everyday Luxury: Silk Quilts from the National Collection

This Week
Daily, Now - July 31, 2020
From: 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Everyday Luxury is a rare showing of a selection from the museum’s collection of late 19th century silk quilts. These textiles tell a little known story about American industry, art, fads, and marketing. These quilts were made to be seen and not slept under and were sometimes called “parlor throws.”
