The Innocence Mission

The Innocence Mission is a Pennsylvania folk-pop band led by singer-songwriter Karen Peris and guitarist Don Peris, whose understated songs make small, everyday moments feel luminous. Across a career that began in the late 1980s, the group has shaped a distinctive sound from Karen’s delicate, clear vocals, acoustic guitar and gentle, atmospheric arrangements. “Bright as Yellow,” from the album Glow, became a sleeper hit and appeared on the "Empire Records" soundtrack; later albums include Birds of My Neighborhood, We Walked in Song and Midwinter Swimmers. Their music rewards close listening, pairing intimate storytelling with melodies that linger softly.
