Los Tigres del Norte

Los Tigres del Norte are a pioneering norteño band whose accordion-led songs turn the rhythms of regional Mexican music into vivid stories of love, migration and life along the U.S.-Mexico border. Formed in Sinaloa in the late 1960s, the group built a decades-spanning catalog that includes the dramatic corrido “Contrabando y Traición,” the singalong favorite “La Puerta Negra” and “Jefe de Jefes.” Their honors include seven Grammy Awards and eight Latin Grammy Awards. The appeal lies in the storytelling as much as the sound: familiar melodies carry characters, heartbreak and lived experience from verse to verse.
