Medium Build

Medium Build is the songwriting project of Nick Carpenter, whose candid, finely observed songs move between indie rock, R&B-tinged guitars and country-leaning sounds. Shaped by a life that took him from Georgia to Anchorage, Alaska, Carpenter writes about heartbreak, belonging and the rough edges of growing up, with warmth and an occasional streak of humor. The 2024 album Country traces his evolving relationship with home and family; longtime favorites include “Be Your Boy” and “Never Learned To Dance,” while “Friend for Life” brought him to the Billboard charts in collaboration with X Ambassadors. His songs make room for both rueful reflection and a lively, personal connection.
